Chalybeate Park

Chalybeate Park is located in the Village of Sharon Springs on Main Street. It is the location of summer concerts, community festivals and is open to community use. It has a pavilion with picnic tables, a gazebo, adirondack style chairs throughout the park and a 10 station fit trail. The park is down a hill from Main Street but does have accessible parking off Division Street. There is also a charging station there for electric powered cars. Summer concerts are held on Wednesday evening. Their main offices and the majority of their amenities are located at Chapel Park. Chapel park has a large complex of baseball and softball fields as well as a large playground, tennis courts and pickleball courts, and a half mile long paved loop for walking and running. The Town of Southport parks and recreation department is currently partnered with the Inclusive Recreation Resource Center on the Youth Inclusion Project which enhances inclusive program practices and helps to provide more inclusive environments for all people but in particular for youth of various backgrounds. According to agency website: Chautauqua Lake F&WMA is located six miles northwest of the City of Jamestown on Chautauqua Lake in Chautauqua County. The F&WMA encompasses three sites: Tom's Point, Cheney Farm and Stow Farm. An accessible trail and combination hunting blind/observation deck was developed on the Stow Farm site. This will provide access to the lake for waterfowl hunting and wildlife observation.

Chenango Valley State Park, located near Binghamton, NY, is an ice age wonder. Its two lakes, Lily and Chenango, were created when the last glacier retreated and left behind huge chunks of buried ice which melted to form the lakes and bog. Birdwatchers may glimpse woodpeckers, nut hatches, warblers and thrushes along woodland trails and herons, ducks and kingfishers lakeside. Fishermen will find trout, bass, perch and bullhead in Chenango Lake. Campers can choose from among 216 campsites and 24 cabins and golfers will appreciate the 18-hole golf course. Ice skating, sledding and cross-country ski trails attract visitors in winter. The Edge Trail may be accessible for most users.

Glacial sculpting over 400 million year-old bedrock is responsible for this scenic feature. An interesting variety of both plants and wildlife may be found along the trails. Visitors can view the falls from the top, walk the winding trail into the gorge view the falls from the footbridge and return to the top along the small trail on the opposite side of the gorge. Chris Green Lake is a beautiful body of water located in Charlottesville, Virginia. The lake is open from Memorial Day weekend to Labor day, during daylight hours. In order to fish at the lake an individual must hold a Virginia State Fishing License. An ample supply of sunfish, channel catfish, and largemouth bass are stocked at the lake. The fishing pier is wheel chair accessible. There is a fishing area near the entrance of the pier on both sides that is wheelchair accessible. If your are using a boat the boat must meet U.S. Coast Guard requirements. Gasoline powered motors prohibited. Electric motors are allowed. The lake also has a canoe launch that is very popular during the summer months.
