The Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center was started in 1983 to house a collection of animals used in a tropical forest documentary. It has grown to house over 150 animals, all local belizian animals that were orphaned, rescued, born, or rehabilitated at the zoo. The goal of the zoo is to conserve the local animals of Belize and introduce these animals to the people of Belize in hopes to inspire conservation and protect future generations. The Zoo offers a variety of educational programs and tours.

4-H Acres is a ten acre piece of land (and facilities) in Dryden, just off Rte. 13 and east of the airport. Owned by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County, 4-H Acres is maintained by private donations. It is available all year round for 4-H clubs to use. Community groups can also use 4-H Acres for a reasonable fee or work exchange.

B. Forman Park

B. Forman Park is a family park located on Lake Ontario in Upstate New York. It has beautiful views of Lake Ontario and plenty of wide open space. It offers an enclosed lodge pavilion, as well as open pavilions, picnic areas with grills, an open play field, swings and a shuffleboard court. The park has a small pebble-stoned beach with access to Lake Ontario. There is no swimming allowed. B. Forman Park opens Memorial Day weekend and closes the last day in September.

Banker Orchards

Banker Orchards is a family-focused functional farm and petting zoo that allows for the inclusion of all age groups to partake in hosted events and the hand-picking of pumpkins and apples. The farm allows for hayrides, and hosts annual events geared towards families. There is also an onsite farmers market which possesses bakery goods, as well as gift shop like merchandise. The orchard is composed of two main components - the parking lot and event area and the crop area. The event area hosts a small playground with a sand pit, the petting zoo, and animal feed area, as well as the main building that hosts the gift shop, where there is little room for escape for sensory overload (though with the parking lot being no more then a few feet away it is easy to separate oneself to the refuge of a vehicle). The orchards are systematically lined trees with grass, and packed ground which may be difficult for wheel chair accessibility, though the pumpkin patch is easier to navigate.

Barry Park

Barry Park is a 15 acre open neighborhood park with various outdoor sport facilities. These facilities include a baseball diamond, a basketball court, 4 soccer fields, and 2 tennis courts. A biking trail runs from the parking lot to the north end of the park. The route of travel from one specialty area to another often include crossing a field of grass or traveling along the bike route until you get close to the specialty area you intend to visit.

Barry Park Monday Mile (Lerner Center for Public Health Promotion)

The Monday Mile route is on a sidewalk that goes through residential neighborhoods near Syracuse University. The path is 4 feet wide in most places. The narrowest point along the route is 32 inches and occurs between the gravel parking lot at Barry Park and the start/finish of the Monday Mile . At the time of this assessment, three Monday Mile signs were missing however the path was relatively well maintained. Maps of the Monday Mile route along with turn-by-turn directions are available on the agency website.

Barski's Xtreme Lazer Tag is an inclusive recreational agency located in The Shops at Ithaca Mall. This agency offers laser tag, mini-bowling, and arcade games. The laser tag area, as well as the arcade area, is easily navigable and open to individuals who may utilize wheel-chairs for navigational purposes. The laser tag game is able to be modified upon request through varying game length, rules, and level of difficulty. Barski's Xtreme Lazer Tag offers discounts to individuals living with disabilities, elderly individuals, and children. This recreational agency is perfect for individuals of any and all skill levels, abilities, and ages.

Basher Kill at Bashakill Wildlife Management Area (DEC)

According to the agency website: "The Basherkill Fishing Platform allows casting access right at the water control structure for the "Basha Kill" wetland, where it flows into the Basher Kill (stream). The actual water level difference here is approximately 6". The Pine Kill (a quality small wild trout stream) enters via a braided channel both above and below this structure, depending on flow conditions. The Pine Kill MAY contribute some early season wild trout (primarily brown trout) to the receiving Basher Kill/Basha Kill WMA, where they will survive until the receiving water warms up in the summer."
