Summary

The North-East Millerton Library is a small public library with friendly staff that offers a variety of library services and programs, and serves as a resource hub for local and community events happening in and around the quaint village and town of Millerton, NY. The library is affiliated with the Mid-Hudson Public Library System (MHLS) and offers the following general services: use of the library to read and borrow a variety of adult and children’s fiction and non-fiction books/magazines, in written format, Large print, on tape or CD, as well as Downloadable audiobooks; video, DVD, CD’s, tapes, and playaways (books on MP3) are available; request interlibrary loans; use of the FAX and copy machine; and use of the reference section. Public computer stations are available with a computer based card catalog which can be accessed through their website. Via the website patrons may download audio books and order books in braille. Spanish/English books and tapes are also available. Wireless Cable Internet Access is offered in the library.

Programs include: Spanish speaking programs, story hours for Birth to 3 and 4-5 year olds, summer reading program, arts and crafts such as jewelry making, Book club each month, Knitting Group, Wii gaming nights on Fridays for kids 10+ yrs., movie nights, and in the works is a TEEN Advisory Council which may meet to discuss teen issues, research, and debate them. There is also a Homebound service which will bring books to you in your own home if you can not access the library. Generally most programs are FREE of charge.

The library has the ability to borrow books and access adaptive equipment throughout the MHLS and NYSLS. Please contact the library if you have any special needs or concerns, they would be happy to assist you.
