Inclusion is part of the library staff goals but is not specifically called out in the mission or value statements. Staff will be looking to amend these statements to reflect a more inclusive and welcoming environment. Internal values reflect inclusion.

All staff have taken a minimum of the Inclusion Ambassador training and participate in monthly training that includes disability awareness and inclusion. Key staff have taken CIA training. These trainings are part of staff job descriptions to provide sustainability of inclusion.

Staff have entered a partnership with Rochester Accessible Adventures to work on an ongoing plan to increase accessibility and inclusion at the library. This includes staff education.

Recently added a board member from Heritage Christian Services who gives perspective of people with intellectual disabilities.

Staff have entered a partnership with Rochester Accessible Adventures to work on an ongoing plan to increase accessibility and inclusion at the library. This is a multi year plan that will include social inclusion and administrative shifts, staff training, physical improvements, program improvements.

Library is exploring installing a hearing loop. They have access to NYS libraries institutional card. ASL interpreter is available for programs with advanced notice.

Pre-pandemic there was a post program survey. It is not being used at this time due to the pandemic.

The library serves as a host to many of these groups above, providing publicity for the meetings that are open to the community. Heritage Christian Services has an intern program with the library.
