This community park is conveniently located in an older neighborhood in south central Bend, near Bear Creek grade school. The ball field hosts adult softball and youth soccer games during the spring, summer and fall. New and improved features include a skatepark, pickleball court, basketball court, playground, restrooms, walking trail, off-leash dog park area, picnic shelter and large lawns for play and picnicking. The new skatepark is very popular and enthusiasts can be found there from dawn to dusk almost every day of the year.
For additional play opportunities, Ponderosa Park also hosts Hal Puddy Field and is directly adjoining Bend Senior High School’s soccer field.
On many afternoons in the fall, parking is difficult to find. We recommend you carpool or use alternative transportation whenever you are visiting this popular park. Connections to area neighborhoods, bike routes and trails can be made using the Coyner Trail.
