(If no designated accessible parking, measure distance from middle of parking lot/area to entrance)
APPROACH: ParkingParking Lot B (Left Side of Bell Works Building)
(If unlined, approximate number of accessible spaces)
(If no designated accessible parking, measure distance from middle of parking lot/area to entrance)
This parking lot is located to the left of the Bell Works complex (facing the building). It is a huge parking lot with hundreds of lined spaces. Of these spaces, there are nineteen (19) spaces that are designated for reserved parking access (international symbol both on the ground and on upright sign). These spaces are located closest to the building in three separate locations -- one section alongside the building (8 spaces), one section in the first aisle closest to the building (8 spaces), and one section in the second aisle (3 spaces). There are nine access aisles located adjacent to these spaces, averaging every two spaces. The parking lot is flat, and extremely well-lit. It should be noted that all of the accessible parking spaces in this lot are not for dual use; all 19 spaces are "reserved access" only.
Note: This parking lot connects with "Entrance B." For individuals seeking the shortest possible travel distance (from parking spot to library entrance), this route would be the best choice. It is approximately 100 feet shorter in distance than walking through "Entrance A."
APPROACH: ParkingParking Lot C (Right Side of Bell Works Building)
(If unlined, approximate number of accessible spaces)
(If no designated accessible parking, measure distance from middle of parking lot/area to entrance)
This parking lot is located on the right side of the Bell Works complex (facing the building). At the present time, it is not accessible. There are no designated accessible spaces, no access aisles, and the entrance to this side of the building has steep steps. The surface area of the parking lot is also expansive, and the walk is greater than 380 feet, depending upon where a car is parked (I measured from the middle). If in need of accessible parking/entry, please visit the parking lot in the front of the building (A) and the parking lot on the left side of the building (B).
*Note: At time time of my visit (8/2019), there did appear to be construction underway for an accessible ramp on this side of the building. Although it is not yet completed, and no accessible parking spaces currently exist, it is reasonable to expect accessible parking may be added to this parking lot in the future.
ENTER: EntrancesLibrary Entrance (Interior)
(enter 0 pounds if automatic door)
This entrance is the interior "point-of-entry" into the library. Please also refer to the three (3) external points-of-entry into the Bell Works Building.
The interior library entrance consists of double-doors (glass), which need to be pulled open upon entry, and pushed out upon exit. The opening force of each door is 4.5kg (9.9 pounds). However, it should be noted that these doors are normally propped open for easy entry/exit into the library.
The "handle type" is a vertical metal bar (same on both sides). It can be pushed or pulled, depending upon the point of access.

At the present time, this is not an accessible exterior entrance into the Bell Works complex. The steps are very steep. However, there is a ramp currently under construction (8/2019). There is one automatic door for entry/exit. It is located closet to the (soon-to-be) ramp access point. However, this entrance is the furthest in distance from the library, so it would be best to enter the building from the main front entrance (A) or the left side entrance (B).

Important Notations Regarding Bathroom:
There are male/female stalled restrooms that were designed for use by library patrons. These bathrooms are located in a hallway connecting the Activity/Conference Room (Large) with the main library. The access door into this hallway is located next to the Catalog/Computer Station. The door to the hallway has a "push bar" for easy exit.
Patrons can also access these bathrooms by leaving the library (main doors), turning left, and then turning into the next adjacent hallway (left side).
Not included in this assessment, there are two additional male/female stalled bathrooms directly across from the library in the atrium of Bell Works. These bathrooms have high traffic, as they service the building community, but they are accessible.
It should be noted that there are no family restrooms (single-occupancy) located in the library or anywhere in Bell Works.
USE: Elevator(s)None Reported
The Holmdel Library is located on the main floor of the Bell Works complex. It is only one floor, so there are no elevators within the library.
The Bell Works building, where the library is housed, provides access to additional businesses, restaurants, and shops. The restaurants and shops are all located on the main floor, but there is office space (businesses) on other levels of the building. Elevators can be found in the main atrium to access these non-library facilities.
