As cited from the Monmouth County Library website, the mission of this agency in promoting "...library use by all" is expressed below:

"We welcome and support the development of a lifelong interest in the pursuit of knowledge through reading and learning. We serve as a primary lending library and community center promoting library use by all, facilitated by our collaborative association of branch and member libraries. We aim to help our patrons meet their educational, recreational, and cultural needs through our extensive collections, professional services, information resources, and innovative programming. We are committed to providing automated access to a vast network of electronic content resources. We strive to be a place to dream, a place to learn, a place to mingle, and a place to realize one's potential" (Monmouth County Library, 2019).

Comments/additional information about agency communication and marketing:

The Holmdel Library, in conjunction with the Monmouth County Library system, strive to be inclusive of individuals with disabilities in both oral and written communication. In this capacity, while "person-first language" is utilized most of the time, some misstatements do happen. The Monmouth County Library website provides a list of specialized services for patrons with both hearing and visual disabilities. (Link: https://www.monmouthcountylib.org/special-services-and-collections/special-needs-services.html). However, it should be noted that some of the terminology on the website may be outdated, and might need to be updated to reflect a more person-first orientation in the future.

Additionally, as the Holmdel Library is a branch within the Monmouth County Library system, it was requested that individuals requiring alternative forms of communication call in advance. While some materials are on-site, others will need to be retrieved from other branch locations.
