Summary
Ocean Reef is a private, member-owned club that opened in 1948. Established by Morris T. Baker it began as a modest fishing camp with a 26-room lodge. Guided by the interests and expertise of the members, the club has grown into a community offering a lifestyle of good health and physical well-being. Recreational opportunities at the club include two championship 18-hole golf course, water sports, children's activities, Reef Club Kids, Reef Recreation Room, the Nature Center, summer camps, fishing, a fitness center croquet fields and tennis center. In addition to the recreational opportunities offered by the club, there is a full-time medical center, the Academy (grades pre-k-8th), a fire station, museum, cultural center, an animal care center, a cooking school, a landing strip, over a dozen restaurants, the spa & salon, a grocery store, nine club-owned shops and over twenty shops in the Fishing Village. It is most certainly a unique way of life and focuses on surpassing excellence.
