Mission Statement: In partnership with our citizens, the Department of Parks and Recreation provides comprehensive park and recreation programs, facilities, and services which respond to changing needs within our communities. We strive to preserve, enhance, and protect our open spaces to enrich the quality of life for present and future generations in a safe and secure environment.

Therapeutic Recreation (TR) programs are designed to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities and facilitate the development of leisure and recreation skills, socialization, independence, and overall quality of life. Programs are highly structured utilizing trained staff, adapted equipment and activities accompanied by a high staff/participant ratio.

Inclusion Services staff provide disability accommodations to facilitate opportunities for individuals with and without disabilities to engage in recreation and leisure activities together.
