The Charlie Major Nature Trail is a mile long, hard packed gravel trail that runs along the Skaneateles creek between the towns of Skaneateles and Mottville. There are trailheads at both the North (Mottville) and South (Skaneateles) ends of the trail. The parking areas are unlined, but have plenty of space available for accessible parking. The Mottville parking area connects directly to the trail while the Skaneateles parking has a 150 foot long access path to the trailhead. This path is narrow with loose gravel while the first half is grass.
The trail itself is wide, flat, and hard packed gravel throughout. There are 3 wooden bridges and plenty of views of an abandoned mill, a rushing creek, forested hillsides, and local art installations. There are several departing trails throughout that are often narrow and steep. Other recreational areas on site include fishing access, a playground, and a picnic area.
There are no public restrooms onsite.
