The Towpath Trail at Chenango Valley State Park is a six-mile in total long trail that is located near the swimming area. This trail is a part of the NYS Birding Trail which offers patrons of the park to listen and see various bird species including Bald Eagles. This is a coveted trail at this park because of it's flat nature and the milege as well as the different bird species you can usually find along your way. This trail, and all the other ones at the park, are not maintained by park staff whether it is off or during the main season. Thier could possible be small holes, tree limbs, loose gravel, mud, puddles, and other obstructions that cause it to be less accessible than show in this assessment. Regardless, this is a great trail for anyone who wants to get out in nature regardless of ability.
