Summary
Palmetto Islands County Park is a beautiful park incorporated into the natural surroundings. Accessible parking is located throughout the park at prominent features: Splash Island Waterpark, various picnic shelters, Big Toy Playground, dog park, and trailhead to Kayak Launch and Fishing Dock. There are 1.1 miles of paved trail (end to end) and several miles of unpaved trails. Park Center is accessed via boardwalk ramps and is noted on the park website as not accessible. Accessible bathrooms are located at Big Oak Shelter. Charleston County Parks & Recreation Commission has audited all facilities via 3rd party vendor and has an extensive transition plan to make facilities more accessible.
