Comments/additional information about agency staff:
Citywide there is an ADA point of contact, within the agency questions are answered either by the Director or the Recreation Program Coordinator for Individuals With Disabilities. Front desk staff are very friendly and are accustomed to answering questions from program participants with all abilities. They are helpful and will connect those with questions to whomever can best answer them.

There are post participation surveys as well as surveys through OPWDD that provide feedback to the agency.

There are individual policies created with families requesting inclusive programming. Evaluations are conducted for first time participants in order to gauge their individual wants and needs. Inclusion Specialists are provided for summer day camps (there are limited spots) as well as for recreation programs when needed. Recreation Support Services also provides programming specific to individuals with disabilities.

They are working on making their website more usable by people of all abilities. Can call if having trouble with the website. They will tell you everything you need to know! The online registrations forms can be complicated, however, you can call the office and they will assist you in signing up for programming.

After the assessment, the Director stated that they will be looking at training staff in procedures for safe evacuation as well as a written policy regarding service animals and motorized mobility devices. At this time, service animals and motorized mobility devices are allowed, there just is not a written policy.

For some specific programs, the evaluation includes feedback on inclusion, accessibility, and the use of supports & accommodations.

The agency has multiple vans that are used for transporting participants during programming and in some cases to programs. There is 1 van w/wheelchair lift.
