The Nature Center mission statement is "to protect and enhance the ecology of North Mountain Park while promoting greater community enjoyment, understanding and stewardship of the local environment." The agency takes the widest possible definition of the human and ecological communities they serve.
The Nature Center's vision is as follows: To increase wonder, wisdom and work for an interconnected human and natural community. Ashland Parks and Recreation is currently in the process of revising their vision and values. The 4 values that risen to the top during this process are: community, education, pride in work and stewardship.
