Old Firehouse Center provides a physically and emotionally safe environment for our participants while offering diverse recreational programming which encourages the exploration of new life-long leisure pursuits, delivered in a manner in a manner that fosters personal growth and helps prepare participants for real world interactions.
Programs are mostly directed toward community youth from 5th-10th grade, on average. Visuals are provided for programs such as Family Bingo and subtitles for Movie Nights.
The Old Firehouse Center Functions Primarily As A Teen Center For Community Youth Within Mc Lean And Fairfax County. The Old Firehouse Center Is Open To Public For Access To Programs During The Day From 9am 2pm, Monday Through Friday. Their After School Program Operates 2:30pm 6pm, Monday Through Friday. Weekends Are For Scheduled Rentals And Mc Lean Community Center Events Or Classes.
Youth Trips for 5th-9th graders include: Spring Break, Winter Break, Teacher Workdays, and select Friday Nights. After School Program for 7th-12th graders operates Monday through Friday 2:30pm-6pm following the Fairfax County Public School calendar. SPARC, a partnered program, operates Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 10am-2pm. Open Bridge for interested community patrons operates Tuesdays and Thursdays 11am-2pm. Youth Dances/Parties for 5th-6th graders occur 4-5 times a year on select Friday nights from 7pm-9pm. Family events such as Bingo and Movie Nights occur 2-4 times a year from 7pm-9pm on select Friday nights.
