According to the website: "Roberto Clemente State Park is a 25-acre waterfront park located along the Harlem River in the Bronx. The park offers a variety of recreational and cultural activities year-round for youth, adults, senior citizens and the physically challenged. The facilities include a multi-purpose recreation building, an Olympic-size pool complex, ball fields, basketball courts, picinic areas, playgrounds and a waterfront promenade.
The park opened in 1973 as the Harlem River Park and was renamed after Clemente, the first Latino-American inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. The annual Roberto Clemente Week celebrates the famed baseball player's life with a series of special events at the park.
During the summer, the park is home to numerous concerts and special events. There is truly something for everyone at Roberto Clemente State Park."
The park is currently undergoing numerous renovations to the parks infrastructure.
Currently, Roberto Clemente State Park is partnering with the IRRC to enhance many different aspects of their programs and services through a youth inclusion project.
