According to the museums’ website: “Located in the 1882 Italianate home of inventor and real estate developer, James Suggett, the Museum's first floor houses "A Home: Cortland Country Interior Spaces, 1825-1900". Memorabilia, toys, and business and industry artifacts, offer appeal to both children and adults, and further illustrate the county's 200 year history. Award-winning vignettes include basic elements of styles of home décor typical of the area in the 19th century. An 1800's kitchen and changing exhibit rooms which display the Museum's collections of textiles, military memorabilia, toys, and business and industry artifacts, offer appeal to both children and adults, and further illustrate the county's 200 year history. Adjacent to the museum, the Kellogg Memorial Research Center opens its irreplaceable archive of diaries, manuscripts, maps, photographs and ephemera to researchers and genealogists. Professional staff aids researchers in navigating public and private resources including indexed federal and state census records, vital statistics, cemetery and surname files and its extensive clipping files. Museum admission is free for members and students and $8 for non-members."
