Summary

Carroll County Arts Council is a theater holding 263 seats in downtown Westminster, Maryland. The theater offers yoga and theater classes for adults and children. Their shows they work on are open for public viewing. They also hold many special events including the PEEPS Show around Easter time, where they hold a contest of the best artwork made out of PEEPS. The building does not have a designated parking area, however there is public parking with accessible parking spaces across the street about 50 feet away from the main entrance. The building has been approved through ADA being accessible, however on the entrance doors there is nothing showing the building is accessible. The doors are not automatic and the amount of force opening the door is heavy. There is an unobstructed pathway to get to the theater, the box office/main desk, and the elevator to get to the second floor. The theater has many transfer or accessible seats throughout the 263 seats it holds, there is also a wheelchair lift to get onto the stage. The agency offers assisted listening devices when attending a show they hold. The language staff uses is inclusive, they speak about ways to ensure inclusion at monthly staff meetings along with reading their inclusive handbooks they must have as a staff member. They are happy to answer and include individuals in the planning process for inclusion.
