Gore Mountain is approximately 1.5 hours north from Albany, NY in the Adirondack Mountains. The mountain has more intermediate and expert terrain than beginner, but there is an excellent teaching area. The Snowsports School includes people with disabilities on a routine and case by case basis in their lessons, if specialized adapative equipment is not needed. The Northwoods Lodge is fully accessible (newly built) and you can purchase your lift ticket and lesson there, as well as access the Children's Center for child care. The Base Lodge is older, and has the cafeteria and eating area. The base area has accessible routes between lodges (depending on weather conditions and amount of snow falling). From the Northwoods Lodge, you can easily access the beginner terain and Sunway lift, which also serves green and blue runs. It is a very beautiful, scenic mountain to ski or snowboard on!
