Staff training in disability is required. There are three training sessions each year, topics covered include: Buerger’s disease, inclusive classrooms, and three videos are shown about inclusivity and child care centers.

Children are usually evaluated twice a year where the agency first asks for parental consent and an intervention is scheduled for the children. There are also school district evaluators.

There are beep balls for children who are blind and many things are puffy painted so children are able to at least feel the lettering. The agency works hard to provide alternate forms of communication and inclusion because many children in the program have sensory differences.

Every door (whether entering or leaving the building) is accessible for people with disabilities; emergency warning system and evacuation procedures are also in place for people with disabilities.

10-15% of the children at the Child Care Center use the accommodations that the Center has to offer. The agency also offers a summer program which is held at SUNY Cortland’s Park Center.
