Formerly Jefferson Park Junior High School 117, this conglomeration of education programs was renamed in honor of the musical great Tito Puente in 2004. The complex includes four middle school programs, one elementary school program, and one special needs school with a total of 1.010 students. The complex combines arts and education, and therefore is appropriately named after a great Puerto Rican musician who was also an educator. One of the programs is called the Tito Puente Academy for the Performing Arts.
