Comments/additional information about transportation:
The Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit (TCAT) bus system is a not-for-profit corporation that provides public transportation for Tompkins County and parts of Tioga County. All buses, except for Bus 130, are wheelchair accessible. There is a bus stop located directly across the street from the State Theater. For more information about routes and fares, check out the TCAT website at www.tcatbus.com

Comments/additional information about parking and route of travel to entrance:
Parking is only on the street and is parallel parking, or in a garage a few blocks away; basically, wherever you can find parking. There is only one designated accessible parking space nearby, and as it is parallel parking, there is no access aisle (road on one side of vehicle, sidewalk on the other). Parking seems a little congested, and probably would be more so the night of a show.

The State Theater puts down a ramp and props open the main doors during shows. The ramp is always available; you do not need to call ahead of time in order to use it. The ramp landing/step has a lot of depth, but is sloped. The area between the two entry doors is sloped as well, as is the lobby itself.

There are two separate entrances for the box office and the State Theater. The box office is located next door to the State Theater. The door dimensions and information are the same as the main entrance doors, except there is only one door to gain entry to the box office. The box office hours are Monday-Saturday, 10am-6pm. On performance days the box office is open two hours prior to the show, and remains open to one half hour after the show. Group tickets are available. Tickets are also available at www.tickets.com or by calling the State Theater at 1-607-277-8283. Tickets are checked at the main entrance to the theater.

Comments/additional information about public restroom/toilet:

There is a wheel-o-vator provided to get up the stairs to the restroom. The wheel-o-vator is located at the front of the theater to the right of the stage. The wheel-o-vator is operated by someone who is not using it. The wheel-o-vator has two doors, one on each side; the doors are manual, lever doors, with an opening force of 1 pound, and they open out. You enter the wheel-o-vator on one side, at the bottom of the level, and exit on the other side at the top of the level. I have provided a picture of the wheel-o-vator in order to see what the wheel-o-vator looks like.
The restroom door opens in. We had to move the trash can inside in order for there to be a large enough space for wheelchair maneuvering.
