The mission of the State Theater is: "The State Theatre of Ithaca is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the enrichment of the lives of our Finger Lakes Region community by presenting, showcasing, and producing the finest quality performing arts events, and, in doing so, making a meaningful contribution to the quality of life and economic development of Downtown Ithaca, New York."

The State Theater has a "comfort first" policy, and will do their best to ensure that a patron's preference is met. The State Theater employees are very flexible and will do their best to accommodate everyone's needs.

There are weekly production and employee meetings, and employees discuss accomodations that will be needed for upcoming performances.
