The Throop Trail, named after the Captain Throop family who were the earliest settlers of Pultneyville, runs between the Cass Meadow and Lake Bluff Trails. It takes a route through the wetland area which is shorter but a bit more rugged in its path. You will find a boardwalk and bog boards along this trail. The board walk had a 2-3" lip on the north end. The slats were spaces about 1-2" apart leaving space for canes or wheels to fall through. There were no railings or edge protection on the boardwalk. The bog boards have a 4" lip to get on and are only two feet wide. This description may change as they move to wear they are needed. There was enough space to the side of these boards to maneuver but it was not muddy the day we were there.
