Summary

The Escalante Community Center has been dedicated to serving the community by introducing education and recreation programs to toddlers, youth, teens and seniors since 1971. The 30,000 square foot facility offers education and recreational opportunities to youth and adults.
Activities/programs offered include:

Early Childhood programs

Youth Activities/Programs -
Activities: Leathering (This starter class is designed to teach basic tooling. Fee $2), Winter Spelling Bee (Sign up to compete with other spellers at your grade level. The competition will be challenging and educational. Prizes will be awarded. Fee $2), Project Quest Trips and more! Some activities are seasonal in nature.
Programs: KinderKids (includes homework help, organized activities for students, a daily snack, themed crafts, fitness, and music, while reinforcing and developing social, motor and cognitive skills, in a classroom just for them), After School Program (requires Escalante Youth Membership, includes but is not limited to fitness classes, arts and crafts, reading program, game room activities, computer room access, homework help, sports, and other classroom activities), and a Youth Sports Program (offers a youth soccer program throughout the year and a youth basketball program during the Summer in June and July).

Teen Programs:
Teen Hoop Nights: Middle and high school students ages 11 to 17 years old are invited to join the City of Tempe for open pick-up basketball games at the Escalante Community Center on select Saturday evenings this winter from 5:30-9 PM.

Escalante Kamp Kool (Summer Camp):
Offers structured programs for youth, ages 5-13. These programs are designed for educational, motivational and recreational growth. Arts & crafts, sports, computers, cooking, science and swimming are some of the planned activities. Enrichment events and guest speakers will be integrated throughout the program
