Section E: Program Practices
Registration and needs assessment
Comments/additional information about registration and needs assessment:
After a disability is disclosed and a request for an accommodation is made, FT Inclusion Specialists complete an individualized assessment with the patron (or parent / guardian). Once that is completed the Inclusion Specialists partner with the program supervisor to identify what barriers may prevent the patron from being successful. They are called the A Team (accommodation team). Together, they figure out what the best accommodation will be. It is written up and sent to the patron / parent / guardian for their approval. Once that occurs, the A Team trains the direct program staff on the accommodation.
