After School - Inclusion Program
AFTER SCHOOL "Be Me: After School Program at the Y is open to kindergarten- sixth grade, offering a variety of activities. Intake meetings are conducted with participants who have an Individualized Educational Program (IEP) in order to determine what type of support is needed to ensure success in our after school program. Individualized goals are created during the intake meeting, with a strong focus on friendship building, self-advocacy, and self-regulation. Trained Support Counselors are placed with participants, implementing individualized support plans. In addition to all the great opportunities and activities that the Be Me: After School Program has to offer, children have the option to participate in the following groups and programs to further enhance their experiences and after school time at the Y: Social Skills Groups - We offer four different socials skills groups weekly in order to foster social and emotional development. These groups meet once a week to work on particular skills needing extra attention. Peer Mentoring Program - Our fourth- sixth grade after school participants are matched with our kindergarten- second grade participants in order to encourage peer learning and to develop meaningful relationships that aid in building a stronger community across the program."
Summer Camp - Inclusion Program
"Our Camp Twelve Trails inclusion program reflects our desire to be inclusive whenever possible and to cater to the needs of each individual child. By adapting the programs offered throughout Camp Twelve Trails, we focus on providing everyone a caring, safe, and engaging environment. To ensure that each child’s needs are properly met, we conduct an intake interview with each camper. For more information about our integrated programs at Camp Twelve Trails, visit camptwelvetrails.org."
