Currently, Hoopes Parks does not have a mission statement. They use the public works mission statement. In the future, Hoopes Park plans to develop their own mission statement, and will have inclusion as one its components.

Hoopes Park staff members do not currently go through any training specific to disability awareness or inclusion. The park hopes to offer inclusion training to staff in the near future.

Previously, the organization did not use person first language in written materials or verbal communication. Having recently been educated on how to implement person first language, the park has started using person first language in both written materials and verbal communciation; they are also making their employees aware of it as well.

Hoopes Park is open to any ideas visitors have that would help in improving their facilities. When an idea or suggestion is brought to their attention, if possible and within reason, the park does their best to change or improve the park area based on the visitor's suggestion and feedback.

Recently, a visitor shared with park staff that the bridge in the park was difficult to cross if using a wheelchair due to the stone surface. To ensure that the area was more accessible, the park paved the bridge area so that the route of travel and surface would be more smooth and easier to maneuver.

Hoopes Park is open to new ideas and willing to make accomodations where possible. They are more than willing to work with individual visitors of the park to make their recreation and experience more accessible. The agency is always looking to improve policies and public relations.
