The waterfront area is not a beach, but a grassy area with a walking path along the sea wall. It also has a swimming area which has a route a travel that transfers from grass to cobble stone to slate steps. There are six steps down onto a gradual slate slope that leads to the swimming area. The steps have handrails on both sides. The gate to the swimming area is 67.5 inches wide; the steps are 86 inches wide.
