Town Of Scituate Senior Center

The Town of Scituate Senior Center is located in a beautiful coastal community and serves members of the community who are 60 years of age and older. There is no membership fee to join the center, but some activities have a suggested donation fee. There is ample parking, with four spaces reserved in the front of the center for visitors with disabled placards. The center provides transportation to medical appointments, and visitors can book a ride to the center to attend recreational activities. The vans have a wheelchair lift and can accommodate regular wheelchairs as well as larger wheelchairs, such as power wheelchairs. Drop off is right next to the center. The hours of operation are Monday - Thursday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, and Friday 8:30 am - 3:00 pm. The center offers a large array of recreational activities including history lectures, crafting classes, watercolor painting, drawing/sketching and Spanish classes. For exercise; there are balance classes, Tai Chi, Floor and Chair yoga, Zumba, tap dancing classes, Pilates, and trail walking (weather permitted) The center also provides an exercise room, game room; with billiards, and board games, a Library; includes large print books, book clubs, knitting group, musical programs, Friday movies, lunch daily for a $5 donation. There are also occasional special events.

Bowmaker Pond is a cooperative venture between the Town of Sharon and SUNY Cobleskill Department of Fisheries and Wildlife. It is close to the Sharon Springs Central School and is nice place to go for a picnic or to fish. The pond is stocked by SUNY Cobleskill.

Trailside Nature Museum & Ward Pound Ridge Reservation

The Trailside Nature Museum is owned and operated by Westchester County Parks, Recreation, and Conservation, and was built in 1937 by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). Trailside was the first interpretive nature center in the country. The size of the original museum building was expanded in 1976 to include a classroom area, more office space, and the Delaware Indian Resource Center.

Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge is nestled along the eastern edge of the mighty Mississippi River. The scenic drive to the refuge along the Great River Scenic Byway entices travelers along the way. Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge is 6,446 acres. Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge lies within the Mississippi flyway, along the Mississippi River in western Wisconsin. It is an isolated backwater, cut off from the Mississippi and Trempealeau rivers by dikes. It is a resting and feeding area for waterfowl and other birds.

Trenton Town Park is open from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm from Memorial Day to Columbus Day. Facilities include the beach, pavilions, playground, horseshoe pits, softball and soccer fields, basketball and sand volleyball courts. There are also two pavilions available for events. Pavilion reservations are made through the Town Clerk's office or by mail by an application. No reservations are taken by phone.

Tyler Park is a small park located on the Corner of Front St. and Clinton St. in the City of Binghamton. This park features a relatively new addition of the ACA Memorial which is a memorial honoring the victims of a mass shooting in Binghamton during the late 2000's. U.S. Forest Serivce: South Park Ranger District

The South Park Ranger District is a U.S. Forest Service ranger district on the Pike National Forest. The U.S. Forest Service is a multi-use agency and offers along with recreation opportunities for ranching, timber, mining, and wildlife. Recreation opportunities on the forest include hiking trails, off high way vehicle trails, camping, nature watching, recreational shooting/ archery, and hunting (There is also fishing but that is managed by the state). While the Ranger District itself does not host many programs they do give other agencies permits to lead their programs on the forest such as rock climbing and guided tours. This agency is a federally managed site. The agency recommends contacting them for more information.
