A visit to this property by Washington Irving is said to have inspired his classic story "Rip Van Winkle." The park itself is buffered on all sides by 780-acres of private lands under Scenic Hudson conservation easements that insure the landscape's protection from development.

According to the agency website: "Point Au Roche State Park, on the northwestern shore of Lake Champlain, is a mixture of open and forested areas, most of them natural and undeveloped. The park's large day-use area has a protected, sandy beach, picnic facilities and concession stand. Boating and fishing are popular activities, as are volleyball, softball and other games. The park offers 60 designated mooring sites in Deep Bay. The staffed Nature Center offers a variety of programs open to the public all year. The park's trails, including nature, hiking and biking trails, wind through interesting habitats, from forest to marsh to shoreline. The trails are in use all year for school programs, nature hikes and cross-country skiing. The park also provides access for ice fishing."

Power 10 is a 5,000 square foot fitness facility. We have a turf and speed strip to allow for speed/agility training and any sled work. The gym is fully equipped with Cybex, Pilates, Rogue, and Getrx’d strength equipment to allow many options for all types of strength training. Our cardio line carries Peloton, Lifefitness, Cybex, Octane, and Stairmasters that allows a full cardio experience. This gym is not as accessible as it could be e.g. the bathroom entrance is not feasible, and staff lack knowledge on inclusivity in terms of varying abilities.

Power Up Fitness is a fitness facility in the Cobleskill NY area that is interested in combing preventive fitness to keep people healthy as well as physical activity to recover from injury or illness and regain functional skills to support daily living and health. Most of the time, the facility does not have staff on to work with users, but it is encouraged that all members meet with the owner for an assessment and to get instruction on the use of the equipment to promote safety and appropriate use. There are group classes that are an additional fee and personal training is also available for an additional fee. The facility has partnered with Bassett Research Institute for Chronic disease prevention programs which are free with registration.

Scenic trails leading to a 137' waterfall beckon visitors to bring a well-stocked picnic basket and a sense of adventure. This geological wonder, formed by retreating glaciers, was the site of Onondaga County's first mill operation in 1796. Picnic opportunities abound. In addition to hiking, Pratt's Falls is popular for archery. (Please note: mountain biking is not permitted.) Programs are not pre-planned, so it's bring your own fun!

The Princess Anne Community Recreation Center is an 82,000 square foot multi-faceted recreational space, located adjacent to Strawbridge Elementary School and Princess Anne Area Library. The facility is single story with an accessible route of travel from the main parking lot to the front desk. A membership or day pass is needed to participate in most activities. The facility offers all the great benefits of a gym plus access to a wide variety of amenities and activities. This includes: state of the art cardio equipment, circuit training, and free weights, group fitness classes and personal training, an indoor pool complete with lap lanes, diving board, ADA lift, accessible pool ramp and submersible wheel chair, locker rooms, showers, and four assisted care changing areas adjacent to the pool, a multipurpose gymnasium, racquetball courts, a youth game room which includes an indoor play structure, adult billiards, table tennis, and meeting spaces. The center offers drop in child care, a licensed early childhood program serving 3-5 yr. olds, an afterschool program for grades K-5, and a variety of summer day camps. A senior center is available two days a week for individuals 55 yrs. of age and older. Reduced pricing options available for residents who qualify. The Princeton Public Library is a great place to hang out, read, study, socialize, and attend community events. The building is very accessible. There are no ramps in and outside of the building, the elevators are well lit and highly usable. There are assistive learning devices and alternative forms of communication so all can be served equally. The staff is very friendly and eager to help in any way possible. Overall, the library is provides a welcoming environment for people of all ages and abilities.

Pulaski Park is located on Main Street in New York Mills. The park offers a playground, pavilion, and also serves as the location for summer recreation programs. The summer program allows children to experience arts and crafts, field trips, and organized games and activities. The summer reading program collaborates with the village library and the Police Department. The park is also the site of special events, including a summer concert series.

Randall Pond is a small pond located on the DEC property at Ridge. Trout are stocked spring and fall to supplement the resident warmwater fish community. The bass and sunfish are reasonably abundant but small. This woodland pond is a good place to bring a child fishing. Hand launched boats are allowed; shoreline access is available.
