According to the agency website: "Clark Reservation State Park is a geologic wonder of the last ice age and a botanist's paradise. The park's natural features include rugged cliffs and rocky outcrops, woodland and meadow, a wetland and a glacial plunge basin lake in which the surface waters and bottom waters do not mix. Fishermen can catch pickerel, bullheads and sunfish; while birdwatchers may observe cedar waxwings, kingfishers and woodpeckers. The Nature Center is open seasonally from mid-May through Labor Day. Guided nature walks leave from the Nature Center building, which also offers numerous exhibits. Hikers may choose from five trails, including the cliff trail, which has a ledge overlook 175 feet above the water."

Over the years the parks department has grown with the addition of Clayton Community Park, All-Star Park, and East Clayton Community and Dog Park. In 2010, the Clayton Community Center opened as a new home for the department complete with an indoor walking trail, pottery and art room, and basketball court. The Recreation Department is responsible for miles of paved greenway throughout town, baseball, softball, and soccer fields, picnic shelters, and more. Clear Creek Canyon Park - Big Easy Trailhead

Big Easy Trailhead and Clear Creek Canyon Park is a very accessible picnic area and trail. The approaches to the bathroom, fishing, and picnic area, although about 75 yards from the parking area, are wide and paved. The park toilets are large and clean, with bars and plenty of room for a wheelchair to move around in. There is a lever door with no automatic opener. The Peaks to Plains trail accessed by this trail head is also 10 feet wide and paved, but it does go uphill pretty much right after the bridge. It is a great trail because there is plenty of room for both cyclists and wheelchairs to share the trail.

The Town of Skaneatles Waterfront area is located in the village of Skaneateles within Clift Park on Skaneateles Lake. There are several benches and a 5' wide, cement walkway along the waterfront. The waterfront offers a roped area for public swimming open to the public in July and August when lifeguards are on duty 7 days a week from 11am-7pm (weather permitting). In order to access the lake, patrons cross a grassy area that leads to slate stairs that descend to a cement ramp into the lake. Residents swim for free with a season swim pass available at the Skaneateles Community Center or Town Hall. Daily admission fees for non-residents are collected at Clift Park.

According to the agency website: The vernacular stone house now known as Clinton House State Historic Site was built in 1765. The house was actively utilized from 1777 - 1783 when Poughkeepsie was the capital of New York State and several branches of state government convened in town. After a fire in 1783, General George Washington's New Windsor Cantonment ordered carpenters to rebuild this important structure. In addition to repairs, the house was enlarged and the present stairway was constructed at this time.
